That Sweet Story of Old, a portrait of Jesus and the children.

THAT SWEET STORY OF OLD. I think when I read that sweet story of old, when Jesus was here among men, how He called little children as lambs to His fold, I should like to have been with Him then. I wish that His hands had been placed on my head; that His arms had been thrown around me, and that I might have seen His kind look when He said, 'Let the little ones come unto me.'

My wife's mother, Alice, has treasured this beautifully illustrated book since childhood when she was, as she describes it, a "P.K.," or preacher's kid. Her father, Albert Bullock, was a Presbyterian minister serving in the Midwest.

Written by a first-grade teacher, Lillie A. Faris and lovingly illustrated by O. A. Stemler and Bess Bruce Cleaveland, this special book captures the sweetness and innocence of childhood, and the wonder of God.
